I have 2 verses this month that I have clung to.
"Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, devote yourself to them so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers."
1 Timothy 4:13-16
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God?
Or am I trying to please men?
If I were still trying to please men,
I would not be a servant of Christ."
Galatians 1:10
1 Timothy 4:13-16
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God?
Or am I trying to please men?
If I were still trying to please men,
I would not be a servant of Christ."
Galatians 1:10
God has shown me that my ability to preserver has grown weak and my desire to be liked and accepted by people has taken a front seat in my life. So I say once again, here I am Lord, teach me how to live as you would have me.
Praising Him for His goodness,

I think I'm behind on sharing my word of the month, but can't remember the last one I put out here, so I'll just do the summer months.
June: Hold Fast
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23
"When you are sure you are right with God, you will be able to look at life with a different perspective. You will then be able to look at the adverse conditions of this life and say, 'God has planned it for good.'" - from Joseph, by Theodore Epp
July: Chosen
"I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction." Isaiah 48:10 KJV
"For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another." Is 48:11
"He will never forsake those he has chosen for his own. 'Do not be afraid, for I am with you' (Gen 26:24) is his unfailing word of promise to his chosen ones who are experienceing 'the furnace of affliction.'" Charles Spurgeon
(In the NIV, the word used in place of "chosen" in Isaiah 48:10 is "tested".)
August: Loved
"Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days." John 11:5-6
The fact that he has us waiting for something demonstrates his love for us. He waits BECAUSE he loves us and not for any other reason.
Love you!
Sara
