The Things we Talk About

Mom, is it dark in hell? Is the question that comes from the backseat. Both children await quietly to hear what kind of response they will get.
Yes, I suppose it will be very dark in hell. I think it will be much darker than it is right now, because Jesus won't be there.
Why do people think hell is going to be fun, Mom?
I'm not exactly sure, but I have heard people say, "They don't care if they end up in hell, because all their friends will be there!" and they laugh, making light of it. So I guess they are under the impression that hell will be like a giant party where they can do whatever they please. But that's not the way it will be at all. Hell is a place of separation. You see, hell is hell because it is when people will be completely separated from God for ETERNITY.
But Mom, God isn't here either. (they mean in the physical sense)
Well, though that is true the Bible tells us that Gods attributes are revealed in all of Creation, so man is without excuse. So as long as we are here there is hope for those who haven't chosen Christ, but one day we will all, everyone have to stand before God and give account and everyones eyes will be open that Jesus is the Lord God, and those who trust him for salvation will spend eternity with him and those who don't will spend eternity without him, hell! So they won't care if their friends are there or not, because there won't be relationships as we know them here. So now think of your most loneliest time and multiply it by a gazillion, and imagine it goes on forever with no end it sight.
Now our car is silent. My heart aches for the lost.
The voice from the back comes with gentleness and says, Mom that is so sad.
Yes it is, so we have to just keep praying.

Revelation 22:5 "And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever."
Romans 1:19-25 "For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!"
Romans 14:11 "for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." So then each of us will give an account of himself to God."
Philippians 2:9-10 "Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
